Essence Airalite Design Statement

Perception Essence Airalite Series description from the designer:

The Perception Essence sea kayak series was designed for the paddler looking to take a longer journey in any kind of sea conditions. The Essence design focuses on efficiency, tracking and stability to provide a paddler with a boat that is very predictable in all conditions. It has a moderately soft-chined hull that allows great edge control and turning.

Essence kayaks are very weather-balanced. It comes with a drop skeg, and can also be easily fitted with a rudder. The Essence comes in two sizes: a 16.5 for smaller paddlers, which loads up to 325 pounds, and the 17.0 for larger paddlers, which loads up to 350 pounds. The cockpit outfitting incorporates the new Zone outfitting for maximum adjustability and comfort right off the showroom floor. Like all Perception boats, this design went through considerable testing to come up with the final model. Go have some fun with her!
